Students will define the following terms:
Element-Atoms-Molecules-
Periodic Table
Students will first review--elements--atoms--molecules----OPE------Pages 123 -128

Students will copy in diagram form the periodic table shown at the following website, (teacher will provide the base diagram) onto a legal paper (8 1/2 x 14)

Students will be required to memorize the following elemental numbers and their characteristics
1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28

Students will answer the following questions in sentence form:

and answer the following question:
1. List the 9 Element Groups (Must Know)

Questions 2 - 9 The students should know the descriptions and could know the elements involved. Students could look at the table to determine the list.

2. Describe point form and list the Alkaline Earth Metals.
3. Describe in point form and list all the Transition
    Metals.
4. Describe in point form and list all the Other Metals.
5. Describe in point form and list all the Metalloids.
6. Describe in point form and list all the Non-Metals.
7. Describe in point form and list all the Halogens.
8. Describe in point form and list all the Noble Gases
9. Describe in point form and list all the rare earth elements.

Students must know the following:

10. What is the name given for the elements which are grouped vertically? How many of these are there.

11. What is the name for the elemts which are grouped horizontally?

12. What is the name for the crooked line separating metals fron non-metals?
